                                                                                               Hi, Friends!
I am back from a winter break. How are you?
                                                                                   I'd-Rather-B-Birdin                                                                                                                                                                                                                                  Saturday's Critters

2017, is the year of the Rooster, which is the tenth animal in the 12-year Chinese zodiac calendar.
As the first post of this year, let me show some cute roosters.
There are lovely roosters that live in the garden of Isonokami Shrine in the city of Tenri in Nara.
The various roosters were donated to the shrine 40 years ago and they have naturally bred there since then.
There is no special religious significance for them and they just roam around the garden, loved by many a visitor.
I sat on a bench in the garden, smiling at them and clicking the shutter on my camera.

                                                                                                   .....I can climb....

                                                                                      ?          ?

                                                                                                          Well done!

hen houses and the Shime-nawa hung:the sacred ropes for the Shinto religion.
                                                                          It marks a god's place.

                                                                           We are together.

Happy New Year! Next Year is my turn......Dog....Remember?

                                                                    Thank you for your visit.
                               I will visit you soon.

May the New Year bring you a lot of happiness and smiles! Tomoko

    Everybody has beautiful body...
And so, the last one is my favorite!!! ... funny.

ps: Sorry, Was Mistaken ... So Many...

  11. Rooster is lovely, so is that white dog. Lovely pictures.

  12. It's been my monkey year this year. I can't say I've noticed anything specially different about it, but it's been fun. May I offer you Gung Hey Fat Choi - or Happy Chinese New Year for this weekend.

  13. Happy New Year to you, too! and a lot of happiness and smiles!
Such lovely shots with roosters; they are so beautiful, indeed, with various colors of plumage. The place must be wonderful to relax and to have a nice walk!
Best regards and a great weekend, too!

  14. Thank you for taking me to the Isonokami Shrine, it is beautiful! I love how the roosters can walk freely, a lesson to be learned. Their colors are vivid against the grays of the stone. I took time to admire their beauty and to relax as if I was there.

  15. Happy Lunar New Year and all the best this 2017. I always like birds and chickens are included in the list, not as food, but as lovely creatures to look at or even taken as a pet.

  16. Thanks for the rooster photos! I never thought of them as pretty before but you've captured them wonderfully including their beautiful colours!

    Happy New Year!

  17. Happy New Year to you also! May it be a wonderful one :)

I hope you can stop by:

  18. Happy New Year Tomoko, make it be filled with joy.

  19. Happy New Year!!! What a great way to start the year of the rooster! I had no idea that it was that year at all. I do have a (very English version and not at all authentic!) Chinese meal planned for dinner on Saturday to celebrate.

  21. I love all the hens and roosters but that last shot takes the biscuit (that is dog). Have a wonderful weekend

  22. Hello, Happy New Year Tomoko. I love all the roosters, I can almost hear them. They are photogenic, love the photos.
