Diary....December (1)

                                                                                                      Hi, Friends!

                                                                                          5-in-5
                                                                                    Thankful-Thursday

                                                                              Autumn leaves are fading away.
My husband likes to go hiking, mostly with his hiking club members. He has not asked me to join them,
because he knows that I am not a person who is good at mountain hiking. I prefer walking on a smooth road
                       by myself with my camera.

However, on a sunny day of autumn I decided to venture in the mountains to see the glorious fall foliage
in the ancient Temple Shoryaku-ji, which is located in the mountainous region of the Nara city.

There is not enough access to the temple. The special buses taking people from the JR Nara Station to the foot
of the temple  run only during autumn.I took the bus and then walked and walked up to the temple as many
                      sightseers do.

Finally I got to the stone wall of the gate.

There were many people enjoying the leaves inside the temple.
Initially I took a simple close up of the Japanese garden with no people in the shot.

                                                                                                    ...... and then.....

Moving back to take the whole scene, I clicked exactly at the moment as figures were away in the frame!

I am thankful for the slow moving pace of nature today!

                                                                                                          Thank you for visit.

                                          奈良の山間部にひっそりとたたずむ 正暦寺。
                             清酒の発祥地でもあるそうです。

                                                                                                            Have a wonderful day!

                                                                                                                   Tomoko

  4. A walk on your own can be very relaxing, Tomoko. You can take your time as you observe your surroundings. You have captured the beauty of the season in nature and the peaceful atmosphere. Each photo is framed perfectly. I love the one of the view of the garden from inside the temple. The colour of the carpet matches the red of some of the leaves on the trees.

  19. Dearest Tomoko,
For being able to walk up to such a serene place that emits tranquility and beauty is worth it! Excellent photos and one can only ponder about how many foot steps entered that wall and gate to the temple over the ages.
    Thanks for sharing this.
    Hugs,
    Mariette

We both are grateful for life's pace at the moment. Garden is in remiss and we had the first frost past night. Husband Pieter is stable because of good medication. Lots for being grateful for!

  22. こんばんは。ご主人と別行動ですか、我が家もだんだんそうなりつつあります。正暦寺、全然知りませんでした。南都焼き討ちにあったと書いてありました。古い奥ゆかしいお寺ですね。

  25. It looks as if it was worth the visit. I'm glad you didn't get people in the shot. Sometimes, people make a picture seem just perfect, other times they are a bit of an intrusion in the picture. I think that a Japanese garden is lovely to admire for artistic reasons, so it is fine without people. I do love that red carpet inside the temple. It picks up the autumnal tones very well. Have a good December, Tomoko!
